Local Council WSIGP is seeking a Site Inspector to oversee day-to-day activities of Council contractors and service providers, ensuring work aligns with contract specs and WHS obligations. This is a night-works role, on-site for the full duration of works (9pm–4am, Sunday to Thursday).

You will monitor construction, verify materials and documentation, and enforce compliance with NSW WHS guidelines while reporting to the Project Manager for the Streetscape program.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Civil Construction or relevant qualifications.
• Extensive hands-on experience in civil construction, including roads and drainage systems.
• Experience monitoring contractors on infrastructure projects and interpreting design drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable working solo overnight, holding contractors to account, with solid report-writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Monitor construction activities on-site, maintaining accurate records, photographic documentation and daily progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with contract specifications and the NSW WHS Act and Regulation, with authority to stop non-compliant works.
• Investigate customer requests and provide technical advice on capital or rehabilitation projects, particularly roads and drainage.
• Verify materials, quantities and workmanship, and check traffic control plans and road occupancy licences against Transport for NSW guidelines.
