Job summary

St John of God Geelong Hospital in Geelong, VIC, invites applications for a permanent night-duty Registered Nurse on 2 North, a 30-bed Orthopaedic and Urology ward. Night shift, with negotiable FTE and hours. Opportunity to develop surgical nursing skills within an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Required: AHPRA registration, collaborative approach, and commitment to high-quality patient care. Prior orthopaedic or urology experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Collaborative, clinically capable and patient-focused Registered Nurse.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
• Hospital experience preferred; orthopaedic and/or urology nursing advantageous.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
• Provides safe and high-quality nursing care to patients during the night.
• Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and across the hospital.
• Provides patient education and acts as a clinical resource where appropriate.
• Supports and supervises staff and students, including orientation and preceptorship of new staff.
• Identifies and responds to changes in patients' clinical condition, escalating concerns as required.
• Contributes to the achievement of hospital objectives and high-quality patient care.
