Job summary

Hygain Feeds is seeking a Night Shift Production Leader in Melbourne to drive safety, quality and performance on the factory floor. You will coach and develop the night team, collaborate with maintenance to reduce downtime and champion GMP/HACCP compliance across shifts.

The role requires strong WHS knowledge, excellent communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

• Lead the night shift production team to achieve operational KPIs across safety, quality, performance, yield, waste and engagement
• Coach, develop and empower your team to build capability and create a high performing team
• Work closely with the maintenance team to minimise downtime and resolve production issues
• Lead and champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, food safety and regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, QA and site standards
• Conduct toolbox meetings and shift handovers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing floor that support future business growth
• Analyse operational performance and provide reports and recommendations to management for process improvements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

Hygain Feeds is a leading manufacturer of equine feeds and supplements with an outstanding portfolio of products. Hygain Feeds started operations in 1983 and has grown progressively over the years extending its global market share, continually evolving its products based on solid nutritional research applied to equine needs.

About the role:

This role is about leading from the front, creating a culture where staff feel supported, accountable and motivated to perform to a high level. You’ll coach and develop your team, manage performance when required and champion safe work practices and ensure every shift operates effectively.

We’re looking for someone with proven leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills and the confident to lead teams.

Your responsibilities will be but are not limited to:
