Job summary

Eurofins Brisbane is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Technician – Sample Preparation for an overnight shift in Murarrie, Brisbane. This full-time role supports sample prep and some analysis in a busy environmental testing lab.

The successful candidate needs a good understanding of chemistry and mathematics (Year 12); no minimum experience is required, though prior lab work is a benefit. Brisbane-based applicants eligible to work in AU are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience is required, however, previous lab experience is a benefit.
• Must have a good understanding of chemistry and mathematics (Year 12). A degree in a science-related field would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort soil and water samples, assign tests in the LIMS database and prepare batch sheets in Excel.
• Weigh samples and transfer subsamples to the appropriate departments in the laboratory.
• Extract analytes from water/soil samples as directed by SOPs.
• Ensure traceability of samples prepared or vialled.
• Perform quality control tests.
• Prioritise samples according to turn-around times (urgent samples).
• Discard waste in line with safety and environmental considerations.
