Job summary

REA Group is seeking a seasoned New Homes Editor to lead our New Homes content initiative within the Content and Growth team. You’ll craft the strategic editorial plan, deliver data-informed content across editorial, podcasts, social and video, and guide a small team to meet revenue and audience goals.

You’ll collaborate with Sales, Lifecycle and Product teams to maximise engagement with property-savvy audiences and ensure editorial output aligns with client objectives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of editorial content production experience across print, magazines and/or digital.
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to create, execute and lead content plans.
  • Strong project management skills including planning resources, deadlines and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the New Homes editorial strategy (sponsored and organic) to engage home buyers.
  • Develop and manage a content roadmap across platforms; assess performance and optimize strategy to meet OKRs.
  • Create original editorial, podcast, social and video content while leveraging data and insights.
  • Nurture and support three content producers and specialists to hit revenue and audience targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Lifecycle and Product teams to maximize audience engagement and client value.
  • Provide performance insights, presentations and ROI recommendations to Sales teams.

The Content Marketing team creates content that helps our property savvy audience achieve their home goals seamlessly through editorials, videos, podcasts and branded content. As a key member of our Content and Growth team you will experience interesting and challenging work. Our team helps set the brand vision for our company - what our identity stands for, how we educate the property market through the right data and insights and how best to communicate stories that matter.

This exciting new role will lead our New Homes content initiative. We are looking for a star Editor to serve as our expert in the New Homes category on realestate.com.au. They will confidently craft and execute the strategic content plan to deliver the latest in New Homes information, data, guides, and news to our audience.

What you’ll be doing
  • Alongside the EM of Content Marketing, articulate and drive the vision, strategy, production and results for a New Homes editorial (sponsored and organic) strategy to engage and connect with home buyers.
  • Ideate and manage a content roadmap for both sponsored and organic content across multiple platforms assessing performance and optimising strategy to ensure OKR’s are met
  • Lead the concepting and development of original and engaging editorial, podcast, social and video content
  • Harness data, SEO, cultural and social insights to ideate content that drives the great result
  • Lead the Developer Content Marketing target by nurturing and identifying opportunities and assisting with editorial production when necessary
  • Manage a team of three content producers and specialist to deliver to a revenue and audience targets.
  • Work closely with the Lifecycle, Product and Developer teams with the aim to maximise our engage of property-savvy audience with up-to‑date guides and editorials
  • Developer strong relationship with apartment developers, home builders, and land developers driving REA Group brand depth, value add and revenue pipeline.
  • Have a deep understanding media trends and insights combined with property and building/new home industry that can be harnessed into thought‑leadership presentations and editorial insights to assist Sales teams to effectively articulate trends and consumer market sentiment
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management teams to identify content opportunities that strengthen tier‑one client relationships and contribute to revenue growth targets.
  • Support the development and execution of topline strategies that position REA as the leading content partner for major developers, ensuring editorial output aligns with client commercial objectives.
  • New Homes Expert: provide content performance insights, insight presentations and recommendations to Sales teams to demonstrate ROI and inspire future investment.
  • Assist in shaping bespoke content packages and proposals for premium clients, incorporating editorial innovation and audience insights.
  • Represent the New Homes content vision in key sales pitches and strategic planning sessions, influencing client spend.
Who we’re looking for…
  • 8+ years of experience in editorial content production across print, magazines, and/or digital.
  • A strategic thinker with proven experience in the ability to create, execute, and lead a strategic content plan.
  • Strong project management skills including conceptualization, driving alignment, planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives, delivering analysis and recommendations
  • Great interpersonal skills – the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships.
  • Contributor management – this role will need to manage the freelance writers to deliver high-quality work to deadline.
  • The ability to ruthlessly prioritise, focusing on content that will drive the biggest impact, and balancing work between current and future state
  • Can take ownership, are a problem solver, and have a high level of accountability in both independent and team initiatives
  • Commercially minded, with a proven track record of aligning editorial strategies to revenue and business growth objectives.
  • Ability to balance creative excellence with commercial outcomes, ensuring content delivers both audience engagement and client value.
  • Experience contributing to high‑value sales conversations, strategy presentations, and post‑campaign reviews for tier‑one clients.
  • Exceptional skills in WordPress, with experience in Flourish and Tableau as a bonus.
