Job summary

NSW Health at The Children's Hospital Westmead invites a new graduate Speech Pathologist to join the busy department from February to December 2027, working 38 hours per week. The role focuses on assessment, management and advocacy for paediatric communication disorders, with experience in paediatric feeding desirable and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership required upon start.

Applicants should complete their degree by end of 2026 and join a multidisciplinary team offering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Experience managing paediatric patients with complex communication disorders (eg phonological disorders, language impairment, ASD, feeding disorders).
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and seek clinical advice as needed for safe practice.
• Experience in quality improvement activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive Speech Pathology service to children and families referred from the clinical area.
• Involve assessment, management, and advocacy; participate in multidisciplinary, educational and administrative activities.
