Job summary

Australian Water Association in Sydney, NSW is seeking a Networks and Knowledge Manager to lead and evolve our specialist networks, turning expert knowledge into practical resources and sector insights. You will engage volunteers, committees and partners, translate complex information for diverse audiences, and shape conferences, webinars and capability programs.

This hybrid role offers a permanent full-time position with 3 days in the Chatswood office and 2 days WFH, plus benefits for advocacy

Qualifications

• Experience working with professional networks or communities of practice.
• Experience in water, sustainability, circular economy or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Ability to translate complex information for different audiences.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Program/project management experience.
• Experience working with volunteers, committees and subject-matter experts.
• Ability to identify useful insights and trends from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve AWA's specialist networks and communities of practice.
• Build engagement and participation across members, volunteers, technical experts and partners.
• Collaborate with volunteer chairs and committees to enable effective network leadership.
• Capture knowledge and insights from networks, events and technical collaboration.
• Translate complex technical expertise into practical resources, sector insights and strategic intelligence.
• Identify emerging water-sector trends, challenges and innovations.
• Connect technical expertise with advocacy, policy, capability and member-value agenda.
• Support partnerships and collaboration across industry, government, research and adjacent sectors.
• Provide technical/subject-matter input into conferences, webinars, member circles and capability programs.
• Connect networks with broader organisational programs.
• Evaluate network effectiveness, engagement and impact and drive continuous improvement.

About you

You're a natural connector and relationship builder with experience working with technical/professional audiences.

Your experience includes professional networks, committees, working groups or communities of practice and translating specialist expertise into organisational or sector outcomes.

You have experience working in the water, sustainability, circular economy or infrastructure sectors and an ability to understand technical subject matter without necessarily being a deep technical expert.
