Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to join our Network Security practice in Melbourne. This client-facing, hands-on role focuses on delivering network security implementations, migrations, and post-change validation, with strong emphasis on practical security delivery and clear documentation.

You will perform security analyses using Splunk, contribute to incident response coverage, and coordinate with customers, engineers, and vendors to unblock

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' hands-on experience supporting security technology implementation activities in enterprise environments.
• Strong practical capability across firewalls, network segmentation, SD-WAN and secure connectivity configuration and testing.
• Working familiarity with security monitoring and triage concepts, including Splunk-based alert review and escalation.
• Exposure to Fortinet and other enterprise security platforms such as Cisco or Palo Alto Networks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on network security implementation and migration tasks (configuration, testing, cut-over, post-change validation).
• Prepare delivery artefacts (LLDs, runbooks, rollback plans, test evidence, as-built docs).
• Provide operational security analysis and triage using Splunk for alert review and escalation.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers and vendors to resolve blockers and support handover.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to join a key Network Security practice. This is a client-facing, hands on technical delivery role with practical experience across firewalls, segmentation, SD-WAN and security concepts.

What you’ll do

• Deliver hands-on network security implementation and migration tasks, including configuration, testing, cut over support and post-change validation.
• Prepare delivery artefacts required for implementation and migration, including LLDs, runbooks, rollback plans, test evidence and as-built documentation.
• Provide operational security analysis and triage support using platforms such as Splunk, including alert review, event validation, documentation and escalation.
• Participate in rotating incident response support coverage, including initial triage, escalation and coordination where required.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers and vendors to resolve blockers, confirm dependencies and support delivery handover.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum two years' hands-on experience supporting security technology implementation activities in enterprise customer environments.
• Strong practical capability across firewalls, network segmentation, SD-WAN and secure connectivity configuration and testing.
• Working familiarity with security monitoring and triage concepts, including Splunk-based alert review, event investigation and escalation.
• Experience with Fortinet is highly regarded; As well as exposure to any additional enterprise network security platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks or similar technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot implementation, connectivity and triage issues, identify blockers, and elevate delivery or security-impacting issues appropriately
• Ability to prepare practical delivery documentation, including low-level designs, migration runbooks, test evidence, as-built documents and technical handover notes.
