Job summary

Our Other Company is seeking a qualified Computer Network and Systems Engineer to design, implement, maintain and support their networks and infrastructure in Brisbane. The role focuses on reliability, performance, security and high availability for business operations.

You will work on LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP and related technologies, with responsibilities including upgrades, backups, monitoring and incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, CS, Network Engineering or related field.
• Professional experience in computer networks and systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP and network protocols.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and network security technologies.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, access controls, backup and disaster recovery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement and maintain computer networks and systems infrastructure.
• Install and configure network hardware, servers, routers, switches, firewalls and related systems.
• Monitor network and system performance and identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot network, server and infrastructure-related technical problems.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records and operational procedures.
• Assist with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Work with software, infrastructure and project teams to support deployment and integration requirements.
• Recommend improvements to network architecture, system performance, reliability and security.
