Job summary

The Boeing Company in Brisbane is seeking a Network and Systems Administrator to maintain and improve the Software Development Environment within the Battlespace Communication System program. You will work on Linux systems, provisioning, monitoring, and contributing to deployment in a highly collaborative, agile team.

This permanent role requires strong networking, virtualization, and scripting skills, with opportunities to influence infrastructure automation and work with Cisco/Juniper/Palo

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship required for defence security.
• Experience with Linux OS, virtualization and networking/IP stack.
• Networking experience with IPv4/IPv6, NAT, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLAN/VxLAN.
• Desirable: degree in Engineering or IT, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with CISCO/Juniper/Palo Alto networking products.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM, Libvirt).
• Experience with Python, Ansible, Bash, Go.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket.
• Experience with Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, GitLab.
• Ability to document and report IT systems and topology.
• Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux systems administration tasks such as user account management, workstation and server provisioning, inventory tracking, systems monitoring and triaging
• Leading the planning, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of all aspects of a complex networking environment
• Create and maintain infrastructure and software development environment documentation
• Actively participate in regular software deployment to the Mission System Test and Integration Facility
• Proactive engagement with all stakeholders, and software and systems engineers to continually improve the software development environment
• Conduct ad-hoc testing within the Systems Integration Facility as required
• Contribute to environment automation using infrastructure as code concepts
• Active participation in a highly collaborative environment using agile concepts and methodologies
• Review pull requests, and provide constructive feedback to DevOps and development staff
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive manner
