Job summary

Informatech is seeking an experienced network architect to support a large federal agency, designing high‑availability network infrastructure for secret classification. The role involves developing High Level Design, facilitating business workshops, and ensuring security compliance across ISM and Essential 8.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshops to understand business requirements and define ICT gaps.
• Support capacity and availability improvements for the network.
• Develop High Level Design and as-built documentation; create technical security documentation.
• Oversee delivery and provide technical assurance for the network solution.

Role overview:

We are supporting a large federal agency with architecting and designing high availability network infrastructure rated at the secret classification. This will be an exciting opportunity to support the enhancement and sustainment of a complex system which is critical to protecting Australian borders.

We are open to both contract and permanent engagement, with competitive salary and benefits for all Informatech permanent staff.

As part of a team, you will be responsible for:

• Developing, designing and building ICT network infrastructure, that will be compliant with both departmental and whole of government security frameworks such as ISM and Essential 8
• Organising, and facilitating workshops to understand business requirements, and defining or improving business processes
• Supporting the continuous improvement ensuring capacity and availability of the network
• Developing High Level Design, as built documentation, and technical security documentation
• Oversee delivery and provide technical assurance for the network solution

To be successful, you will have extensive experience in:

• Architecture, design and documentation of complex network infrastructure, unified communications platforms and Linux/Windows Operating Systems
• Developing and maintaining High Level Design, Detailed Design, and As-Built documentation
• Organising and facilitating workshops to determine business needs, and ICT system gaps
• Experience working in a complex/enterprise government department
