Job summary

Telstra is seeking a Network Engineer-2 to contribute to Defence communications and ICT services within a collaborative engineering team. You will work across varied technologies, build your technical capability and partner with stakeholders to deliver practical, customer-focused outcomes.

You can be based in Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and a minimum Active NV1 clearance is essential to be considered for this role.

Qualifications

• You are a customer-focused engineer who communicates clearly and takes ownership of outcomes.
• 2+ years experience in systems administration, network engineering or related role.
• Exposure to Juniper, SM9, SNOW, Aruba, Jira, Confluence is advantageous.
• Strong network routing, switching, troubleshooting, analytical and documentation skills.
• Experience in Defence, government or regulated environments is highly regarded.
• ITIL knowledge or certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver minor works, infrastructure changes, deployments and remediation activities within service levels.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Support release, deployment and change-management activities while protecting operational stability.
• Manage service requests and communicate progress, risks and timeframes to stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate technical documentation, implementation records and customer updates.
• Maintain accurate data across asset, configuration and operational systems.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and accountable team culture focused on continuous improvement.

• Exposure to juniper, SM9, SNOW, Aruba, Jira, Confluence is advantageous.
• Strong Network routing, switching, troubleshooting, analytical and documentation skills.
• Experience in Defence, government or another highly regulated environment is highly regarded.
• ITIL knowledge or certification is advantageous.
