Job summary

XPT Software Australia seeks a Senior SRv6 Network Engineer to join our Sydney team, driving SRv6 and MPLS design across Optus network modernization. The role requires deep hands-on experience with IPv6, BGP/ISIS/OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and traffic engineering in carrier-grade environments.

You will work closely with networks engineering, automation teams, and vendors to implement scalable solutions, manage backbone transformations, and perform RCA on critical outages.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IP/MPLS Service Provider networks.
• Hands-on SRv6, MPLS, IPv6, BGP, ISIS, EVPN/VXLAN.
• Experience with Nokia 7750 SR/SR OS and Cisco ASR9K/NCS/IOS-XR; Juniper preferred.
• Network automation using Python, Ansible, YANG, NETCONF/RESTCONF.
• Experience in carrier-grade backbone networks, transformation programs, RCA for incidents.

Responsibilities

• Support Optus network transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Lead architectures for SRv6 and IP/MPLS service provider networks.
• Troubleshoot and drive RCA for critical incidents in backbone networks.
• Collaborate with vendors on migration efforts and platform upgrades.
