Job summary

FinXL Professional Services in Sydney seeks a Network Engineer - NV1 to join our consulting team and be deployed with a leading Telco client on a key transformation engagement.

You will design and implement Cisco routing and switching solutions, maintain enterprise networks, and ensure security and reliability in line with government standards. This role requires active NV1 clearance and hands-on experience with core Cisco technologies.

Qualifications

• NV1 security clearance mandatory.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Proven routing protocols knowledge: OSPF/BGP/EIGRP.
• Deep switching knowledge: VLANs, STP, EtherChannel.
• Experience with large-scale Telco or Enterprise networks.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex issues.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end Cisco routing and switching solutions across complex network infrastructure.
• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise routing architectures.
• Implement robust enterprise switching protocols to ensure service delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network performance issues and incidents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support upgrades and changes.
• Adhere to government security protocols and network standards.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and topology maps.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end Cisco routing and switching solutions across complex network infrastructure.

• Design, configure, and maintain high-performing enterprise routing architectures.

• Implement robust enterprise switching protocols to maintain continuous service delivery.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve advanced network performance issues and incidents.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support network upgrades and changes.

• Ensure strict adherence to government security protocols and network architecture standards.

• Maintain accurate network documentation, topology maps, and procedural guidelines.

Key Skills & Experience

• Must hold an active Australian Government NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) Security Clearance.

• Strong hands-on engineering experience in Cisco routing and switching technologies.

• Proven expertise configuring standard routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).

• Deep technical understanding of switching frameworks (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).

• Demonstrated experience working within large-scale Telecommunications or Enterprise networks.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills for complex network operational issues.

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience).
