Job summary

BYD Haberfield, part of Harmony Auto Australia, seeks a Network Development Specialist to drive growth across automotive retail, showroom, service and vehicle storage networks. You will translate strategy into site opportunities, manage end‑to‑end delivery, and maintain performance dashboards to support informed decisions.

Responsibilities include market analysis, feasibility studies, and cross‑functional coordination with agents, landlords and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in business, property, economics, finance, or project management.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in network development, property, retail expansion, or project coordination (automotive experience advantageous).
  • Skilled in market analysis, financial modelling, feasibility assessments, and management reporting.
  • Practical understanding of property, lease, planning, construction, and site delivery
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project-management, mapping, CRM or business‑intelligence tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Network Strategy & Market Analysis: Assess market coverage, customer demographics, competitor presence, and EV/automotive retail trends to identify white‑space opportunities. Maintain a prioritised pipeline of new sites, relocations, and expansions aligned with business strategy.
  • Site Identification & Feasibility: Support property searches, inspections, and due diligence. Develop business cases with capital/operating costs, ROI, payback periods, and sensitivity analysis. Maintain feasibility records and approval documentation.
  • Property & Commercial Coordination: Liaise with agents, landlords, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Support lease/licence negotiations, identify obligations and risks, and prepare approval submissions.
  • New Site Delivery & Opening Readiness: Manage end‑to‑end project plans covering approvals, design, construction, utilities, IT, HR, marketing, and operational readiness. Track budgets, risks, and milestones, ensuring controlled handover and post‑opening reviews.
  • Network Standards & Performance: Ensure compliance with brand identity, customer experience, safety, and operational standards. Maintain dashboards on coverage, investment, and performance, coordinating corrective actions where needed.
  • Stakeholder Management & Governance: Build effective relationships with internal teams, OEM partners, landlords, and advisers. Prepare concise presentations, management papers, and governance records.

The Network Development Specialist supports the planned growth and optimisation of the Company’s automotive retail, showroom, service and vehicle-storage network. The role converts network strategy into commercially sound site opportunities and coordinated opening plans through market analysis, feasibility assessment, property coordination, project governance and cross-functional delivery.
