Job summary

Bendigo Bank is expanding its technology function in Melbourne, offering a permanent Network Automation Engineer role in our Melbourne or Bendigo head office. You’ll design, implement and govern automation for enterprise networks, bridging traditional networking with software development in a hybrid work environment.

You’ll lead IaC initiatives, integrate Cisco, Palo Alto and F5 platforms, and collaborate across Cloud, Platform Engineering and IT leadership to deliver scalable, secure network

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise networking background with routing, switching, wireless and load balancing.
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Ansible and Terraform.
• Familiarity with modern development practices: GitHub, API integrations and code-based testing.
• Hands-on ability to write code and automate networks; CCNP/PCNSE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish, own, and run Network Automation frameworks.
• Transition network infrastructure to an Infrastructure as Code model.
• Develop automated workflows for Cisco, Palo Alto and F5 platforms.
• Connect automation with ITSM, monitoring tools and vendor APIs for self-service networking.
• Introduce software engineering practices: Git, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Platform Engineering, UC and leadership to align with bank platforms.
