Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking an experienced NetSuite Developer for a short-term contract to implement NetSuite in a wholesale, inventory and distribution environment. The role focuses on data migration from a legacy ERP into NetSuite, and on developing and customizing NetSuite workflows to meet operational requirements.

The contractor will work hands-on across migration, ETL, SuiteScript, workflows and integrations, ensuring accurate data transfer and practical NetSuite solutions within the project

Qualifications

• Experienced NetSuite developer with hands-on customization

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced NetSuite Developer for a short-term contract to support the implementation of NetSuite within an established wholesale business.

The role will have a strong focus on data migration and ETL from our legacy ERP into NetSuite, together with developing and customising NetSuite workflows to support our operational requirements.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands both the technical capabilities of NetSuite and how ERP systems need to operate in a busy wholesale, inventory and distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the migration of data from our legacy ERP into NetSuite, including extraction, transformation, cleansing, mapping, validation and import.
• Develop and execute ETL processes for master and transactional data, including customers, suppliers, products/SKUs, pricing, inventory, purchase orders, sales orders and related records.
• Perform data reconciliation and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy following migration.
• Review existing business processes and translate operational requirements into effective NetSuite workflows and customisations.

Configure and customise NetSuite to support wholesale processes including:

• Sales order processing and fulfilment
• Purchasing and replenishment
• Inventory and warehouse management
• Customer and supplier management
• Pricing and discount structures
• Import purchasing and inbound inventory
• Order approvals and exception management
• Invoicing, credits and related financial workflows

Develop SuiteScript solutions where standard NetSuite functionality or SuiteFlow cannot adequately support business requirements.

Create and modify workflows, custom records, custom fields, forms, saved searches, reports and scripts.

Automate manual processes and improve workflow efficiency across sales, purchasing, inventory, warehouse and finance functions.

Troubleshoot migration, scripting, workflow and integration issues.

Document customisations, scripts, migration processes and key system configurations.

Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand current processes, identify gaps and develop practical NetSuite solutions.

About You

You will be an experienced NetSuite developer or technical consultant who is comfortable working independently and delivering practical solutions within a defined implementation timeframe.

Ideally, you will have:

• Strong hands-on NetSuite development and customisation experience.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP migrations and ETL, preferably involving migration from a legacy ERP into NetSuite.
• Strong experience with SuiteScript 2.x/2.1.
• Experience with SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, saved searches, custom records and custom forms.
• Experience with CSV imports, data mapping, transformation, cleansing and reconciliation.
• Understanding of NetSuite integrations and APIs, including SuiteTalk REST/SOAP and RESTlets, where required.
• Strong understanding of wholesale, distribution and inventory-based business processes.
• Experience working with sales orders, purchase orders, inventory, fulfilment, receipting and related financial transactions.
• Ability to understand an existing operational process and determine whether it should be addressed through configuration, workflow or custom scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Clear documentation and communication skills.

The Engagement

This is a short-term, project-focused contract with clearly defined implementation and migration objectives. The successful contractor will work closely with our internal team and NetSuite implementation resources to help ensure our legacy data is migrated accurately and NetSuite is configured and customised to support our day-to-day business processes.

We are particularly interested in someone who can combine strong NetSuite technical capability with an understanding of how a wholesale business actually operates.
