Job summary

Personalised Care is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to enhance the lives of participants within the NDIS community. The role involves delivering one-on-one support, promoting safety, wellbeing and independence for individuals with disabilities.

Multiple shifts available (Full time, Part time, Casual, Contractors). Applicants with cultural understanding and Arabic language skills are encouraged, though not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to build rapport with participants and families.
• Compassion, empathy and patience needed to provide person-centered care, respecting each individual's needs.

Position: Support Worker - High Physical Support needs for a male.

Location: Menai, Strathfield, Campbelltown, Holsworthy, Liverpool Area.

Employment Type: Full time, Part time, Casual, Contractors

One of these roles supports a participant of Assyrian Arabic background. Applicants with cultural understanding and Arabic language skills (Assyrian dialect) are encouraged to apply, though these are not essential requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate community access and engagement for disabled participants, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
• Provide one-on-one support to participants, promoting their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life.
• Assist participants in developing life skills, fostering social connections, and accessing community resources.
• Implement individualised support plans, tailoring assistance to meet the unique needs and goals of each participant.
• Encourage and empower participants to pursue their interests, hobbies, and personal development opportunities.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, promoting independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
• Document participant progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with organisational guidelines.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential. We welcome individuals with a genuine passion for working with the disabled community and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.
• Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing person-centered care, understanding and respecting the unique needs and abilities of each participant.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and participant requirements, while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a cohesive and supportive work environment.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred, as occasional transportation support may be required.
