Job summary

Choice Community Health in East Melbourne is seeking a casual Disability Support Worker to assist people with disabilities to participate in social and community activities. You will provide companionship, support goal attainment, and help participants engage in meaningful pursuits within their local community.

The role offers casual/ vacation shifts with pay under the SCHADS Award, with a wage of $36.81 per hour for Casual Employee Level 1 Pay Point 3.

About the Role

This role is about supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals and be part of their community. As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll:

• Provide social and community participation support (appointments, outings, social groups, sports, community engagement)
• Encourage skill-building and confidence in everyday life
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Help participants engage in meaningful activities and pursue their interests
• Walk alongside participants as they work towards their NDIS goals

About You

You don’t need formal qualifications to apply, what matters most is your attitude and values. We’re looking for people who are:

• Good listeners with strong communication skills
• Flexible and proactive in supporting others
• Motivated to make a positive difference in someone life
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
