Job summary

Downer Professional Services invites applications for a Combat Systems Engineer (Requirements/FPS) to support naval combat system modernisation projects in ACT or Sydney. You will develop and maintain functional specifications, decompose requirements, and collaborate with external partners to ensure proper interfaces and verification planning.

The role requires a Systems or Electrical Engineering background, strong writing and stakeholder engagement skills, and Australian citizenship with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience developing functional or performance specifications for defence/naval/electronic systems.
Knowledge of requirements decomposition, traceability, verification methodologies and DOORS.
Strong technical writing and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, review and maintain FPS for combat system elements and interfaces.
Decompose stakeholder and Commonwealth requirements into measurable, testable requirements.
Support requirements management activities including traceability and change control using DOORS.
Collaborate with primes, contractors and stakeholders to define interface requirements.
Contribute to System Requirements Reviews (SRR), PDR and CDR, plus verification planning.
