Job summary

Kmart Group seeks a National Safety Risk and Governance Manager to lead safety governance, risk management, and assurance across its national footprint. You will drive transformational change, oversee audit programs, and partner with operations to embed safety in every business initiative.

You will influence at senior levels, manage safety data, and evolve systems to deliver measurable safety outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hybrid, national role with strong leadership impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in safety governance, risk, compliance or assurance in complex, regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation in AU/NZ and self-insurance requirements.
• Designing and leading practical, scalable audit and governance programs.
• Proven leadership delivering transformational change and senior-level influence.
• Ability to operate in multi-site environments and translate strategy into embedded change.
• Experience with safety governance frameworks and data-driven risk insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead and transform enterprise-wide safety governance framework, including compliance, risk management, and document control.
• Evolve data and digitalisation strategy to enable better business outcomes.
• Oversee safe work practices, policies, risk assessments, and governance cycles with clear communication.
• Direct internal and external audit programs and implement resulting improvements.
• Manage safety systems, data, and service contracts, evolving them as part of the transformation agenda.
• Partner with stakeholders to embed safety requirements into business initiatives and build capability across the business.
