Job summary

Jaytex Construction is seeking an experienced National Pre-Contracts Manager to lead its pre-construction function across South Australia and the Northern Territory, shaping the project pipeline and commercial strategy.

This senior role partners directly with owners and the leadership team, driving tender strategy, cost planning and contract negotiations on projects valued between $10M and $80M across government, defence, commercial and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading pre-construction, estimating or tendering in commercial construction.
• Proven track record delivering medium to large-scale projects, ideally valued between $10M and $80M.
• Strong commercial acumen including risk, tender strategy and contract negotiations.
• Cost planning background (Quantity Surveying) highly regarded.
• Proven ability to lead, influence and develop teams and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction across South Australia and the Northern Territory from initial assessment through tender submission.
• Drive project selection, tender strategy and commercial positioning.
• Assess opportunities against business objectives, risk and viability.
• Oversee major tenders, estimates, cost plans and submissions.
• Identify commercial risks and value management opportunities to optimise outcomes.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with owners and Project Directors to strengthen the project pipeline.
• Enhance pre-construction systems and collaboration with delivery teams.
• Mentor and develop team members to support growth.
