Job summary

Ramsay Health Care seeks an experienced Payroll Automation Lead to reshape national payroll operations. You will identify manual processes, design smarter automated solutions and standardise how payroll is managed across state and corporate offices.

You will lead automation initiatives from discovery to benefits realisation, work with Payroll, Technology, Finance, and People & Culture teams, and drive process improvements with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Business Analyst, Payroll Systems Analyst or similar role within a complex, multi-site organisation.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of Australian payroll.
• Experience working with Awards and Enterprise Agreements, terminations, leave, long service leave, superannuation and STP Phase 2.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across geographically dispersed teams without direct reporting authority.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capability, with experience working with payroll, workforce or operational datasets.
• Experience designing controls, governance processes and assurance mechanisms within payroll or other regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with a major payroll platform; Chris21 experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with UKG, Workday or comparable payroll platforms will also be considered.
• A proven track record of process mapping, standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and delivering automation opportunities.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise competing opportunities based on value, risk and feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to standardise, simplify and automate payroll processes across a national operating model.
• Lead automation initiatives from discovery and business case through to implementation and benefits realisation.
• Map current payroll processes and design standardised ways of working across offices.
• Improve use and configuration of Chris21 and the wider payroll technology landscape.
• Write high-quality functional and technical requirements, business cases and specifications.
• Lead system testing, including regression, parallel and user acceptance testing.
• Analyse payroll and workforce data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks and opportunities.
• Measure and report the benefits delivered through automation and process improvement.
