Job summary

Westpac is seeking a National Manager, Property within Business Home Lending. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will lead the Property vertical nationally from a Business Mortgages perspective, shaping a strong and sustainable proposition for customers across Australia.

You will provide leadership and specialist expertise across complex property lending, partnering with senior leaders across Commercial Property, Credit, Risk and Operations to evolve policy, strengthen lending quality and drive

As National Manager Property, Business Home Lending, you’ll lead the Property vertical nationally from a Business Mortgages perspective, shaping a strong and sustainable proposition that delivers great outcomes for customers across Australia.

You’ll provide leadership and specialist expertise across complex property lending, partnering with senior leaders and teams across Commercial Property, Credit, Risk and Operations. You’ll help evolve policy and processes, strengthen lending quality and turn insights from customer and banker experiences into practical improvements across the business.

This is a strategic role that also keeps you close to the work. You’ll bring your expertise to complex transactions, help build capability and ensure our approach to Property supports customers while operating within Westpac’s credit and risk appetite.

This is a full time opportunity based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country or Melbourne / Naarm, Wurundjeri Country.

What do I need?

• Strong commercial or corporate banking experience, with deep knowledge of property lending, mortgage credit and commercial property requirements.
• Strong critical thinking and judgement, with the ability to navigate complex transactions and turn challenges into practical, customer focused solutions.
• The ability to lead and build capability across teams, creating clarity and supporting strong customer and lending outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Commercial Property, Credit, Risk, Operations and senior leadership.
• Sound understanding of credit risk, policy and regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate customer and banker insights into meaningful policy and process improvements.
