Job summary

NEX Building Group is seeking a Head of Structural Engineering to lead Supaloc’s national engineering function from Adelaide or Sydney, with interstate travel. You will set strategy, govern design, certification and risk, and drive innovation across our building systems portfolio.

You will manage budgets, lead a high-performing national team, and forge strong relationships with customers, suppliers and regulators while delivering safe, reliable engineering solutions for Australia’s homes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
• Extensive structural engineering experience in construction, manufacturing, or building systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering functions and complex programs.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility; Engineers Australia membership.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the national engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Provide technical leadership across design governance, compliance, certification and risk management.
• Lead product development, research, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage engineering budgets, investment planning and business cases.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators and stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a high-performing national engineering team.
• Act as senior technical authority for the Supaloc product portfolio and systems.
