Job summary

Liberty Oil Australia, a proudly independent wholesale and distribution partner, seeks a General Manager Operations to lead Liberty Rural’s transport and scheduling operations. You will oversee a team of 6 direct reports, 200+ indirect reports and 120+ trucks, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery across the national network.

You will set operational standards, balance customer service with asset utilisation, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in transport, fuel distribution, logistics or comparable high-risk operations.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle operations, fatigue, mass, load restraint and road transport compliance.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and frontline managers.
• Fleet strategy, asset lifecycle, maintenance, scheduling and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations across Liberty Rural’s national teams, with 6 direct reports and 200+ indirect reports.
• Oversee transport, scheduling and customer support to meet demand and service levels.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and cost-control plans for the operations.
• Drive safety, compliance, asset utilisation and labour efficiency.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to manage risk and delivery commitments.
• Provide regular reporting and data-led recommendations to leadership.
