This role has the option to be based in VIC, QLD or NSW.
TDG Environmental is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced and hands-on National Fleet Operations Manager to keep our vehicles, plant and trailers compliant, safe and on the road. If you love bringing order to complex operations, driving consistency across regions and using data to make smarter fleet decisions, we want to hear from you.
At TDG Environmental, we value our people. You’ll enjoy:
A supportive, inclusive and safety-focused workplace where your ideas are heard.
Opportunities for learning, development and career growth.
Being part of an innovative, Australian‑owned company with over 34 years’ experience across Australia and New Zealand.
A culture that celebrates diversity and welcomes all backgrounds.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP), extended to your immediate family
Reporting to the Group Fleet Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for the day-to-day running of our national fleet. You’ll make sure every vehicle, plant item and trailer is registered, roadworthy and compliant, support Regional Maintenance Managers with fleet-related information and coordination, and ensure our fleet data is accurate and working hard for the business. You’ll also support our Chain of Responsibility obligations and provide functional direction to regional fleet and workshop administrators.
This is a varied, high-impact role with travel to sites interstate and in New Zealand as required.
Ensure all vehicles, plant and trailers hold current registration, roadworthy and compliance certification and permits across all jurisdictions, including renewals, tolls, e-tags and infringement nominations.
Oversee the vehicle inspection program (daily pre-start, end-of-day and weekly checks), report monthly completion by state and follow up non-completion.
Champion our zero-harm safety culture, Core Values and Code of Conduct.
Manage insurance claims through to resolution, maintain the motor vehicle insurance schedule and lead fleet input into the annual insurance renewal.
Handle all fleet requests (ordering, additions, disposals and transfers), coordinate asset movements, maintain the master asset register and produce the weekly asset movement report.
Support fleet replacement planning and capex submissions, including supplier quotes, business cases and lease or finance pricing reviews.
Integrate fleet assets and data from acquired businesses.
Administer and continuously improve our fleet management system, and support the rollout of telematics and IVMS to monitor utilisation, idling and driver behaviour.
Produce regular and ad hoc reporting on fleet operations, compliance, utilisation and costs, and audit fleet data for accuracy.
Set up and review service agreements and service levels with external agents and suppliers, and assist with site maintenance and service contracts.
Process and verify invoices, manage fuel cards and e-tags, and track costs against budget.
Oversee, manage and report on fuel usage
Provide direction, standard processes, training and support to regional fleet and workshop administrators (dotted-line), ensuring consistent fleet practices across all regions.
Develop efficiencies and fleet procedures, policies and controlled documents with oversight from the Group Fleet Manager.
Partner with operational teams and internal stakeholders, travelling to sites interstate and in New Zealand as required.
