Job summary

Effective People is seeking APS5/6 Program Officers to join a Federal Government team delivering environmental regulatory programs across Australia. You will support administration, coordination and continuous improvement of a national regulatory framework, contributing to initiatives that protect Australia’s environment.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Government Baseline security clearance or higher.
• Experience in program administration, regulatory compliance, policy or a related government environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, procedures or regulatory frameworks.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Well-developed written communication skills, including preparing briefs, reports and correspondence.
• Confidence engaging with stakeholders and building productive working relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery, administration and continuous improvement of a national environmental regulatory program.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Undertake research and analysis to identify issues, develop recommendations and support informed decision-making.
• Prepare briefs, reports, correspondence and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with stakeholder consultation and engagement, including responding to enquiries and supporting regulatory discussions.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government, industry and other stakeholders.
• Support contract administration, governance, compliance and reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen program delivery and achieve regulatory outcomes.
