Job summary

Australian Federal Government is seeking an APS5 Program Officer to contribute to a national environmental regulatory program. The role involves research, analysis and engagement with stakeholders to support regulatory delivery.

The officer will coordinate administration, interpret legislation, and help continuously improve processes across Australia, with preference for those near capital cities and clearances up to Baseline level.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Government Baseline security clearance or higher is essential.
• Experience in program administration, regulatory compliance or a related government environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies or regulatory frameworks.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery, administration and continuous improvement of a national environmental regulatory program.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Undertake research and analysis to identify issues, develop recommendations and support informed decision-making.
• Prepare briefs, reports, correspondence and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with stakeholder consultation and engagement, including responding to enquiries and supporting regulatory discussions.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government, industry and other stakeholders.
• Support contract administration, governance, compliance and reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen program delivery and achieve regulatory outcomes.
