Job summary

Schindler Lifts Australia is seeking a National EHS Manager to lead the national Environment, Health & Safety strategy and management system from our Alexandria, NSW site. You will provide expert leadership and support to operational teams nationwide, ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Trade qualification highly regarded, or significant experience in blue-collar environments.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a senior EHS leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading safety management systems and driving safety culture.
• Experience managing audits, incident investigations and corrective action programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Schindler's EHS Management System nationally.
• Drive safety strategy, objectives and initiatives to support a strong safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, codes and company requirements.
• Develop, implement and monitor national audit, inspection and observation programs.
• Manage internal and external EHS audits and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Provide expert EHS advice, coaching and support to operational leaders.
• Lead and coordinate EHS training and awareness programs.
• Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Manage relationships with external regulatory bodies and investigations.
• Facilitate branch safety committees and injury management initiatives.
