The Company

This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing Australian industrial organisation with a significant national footprint across New South Wales and Queensland. Operating in a fast-paced manufacturing and operations environment, the business has made substantial recent investments in plant, equipment, and infrastructure, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced asset management professional to shape and elevate maintenance practices across the organisation. With a strong focus on operational excellence, safety, and long-term sustainability, the business is seeking a leader who can drive a strategic, preventative maintenance culture while protecting critical assets and supporting major capital projects.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, the National Asset & Maintenance Manager will take ownership of a national portfolio of high-value machinery, plant, equipment, and infrastructure valued at more than $10 million. This is a stand-alone leadership role focused on developing and implementing a best-practice asset management framework across multiple sites. You will be responsible for transitioning maintenance activities from a reactive model to a structured preventative maintenance program that improves reliability, minimises downtime, and maximises asset lifespan. Based in Western Sydney, the role will involve regular travel to operational sites in Queensland.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the complete asset lifecycle across multiple sites, including performance monitoring, risk management, maintenance planning, and replacement strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive national asset register.
  • Building and managing capital expenditure and maintenance budgets to optimise asset performance and total cost of ownership.
  • Establishing preventative maintenance schedules and servicing frameworks across plant, equipment, cranes, forklifts, and site infrastructure.
  • Managing external maintenance contractors, specialist service providers, and OEM relationships.
  • Ensuring all warranty obligations, service requirements, and statutory compliance standards are maintained.
  • Monitoring asset health and equipment reliability while reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Partnering closely with Operations, WHS, and leadership teams to support operational performance and compliance objectives.
  • Providing strategic asset management input into a major facility relocation and infrastructure project.
  • Delivering clear reporting and recommendations to senior leadership regarding asset performance, maintenance planning, and future investment requirements.
You

You are an experienced Asset, Maintenance, Engineering, or Reliability professional with a proven track record managing large-scale industrial asset portfolios across multi-site operations. You bring a strategic mindset and understand how effective asset management directly impacts operational efficiency, safety, and business performance. Comfortable working autonomously, you have a strong ability to influence stakeholders, manage contractors, and build robust maintenance frameworks that deliver measurable outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing asset and maintenance functions at a regional, state, or national level.
  • Experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing, steel, infrastructure, logistics, mining, or similarly asset-intensive environments.
  • Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, preventative maintenance programs, warranty management, and contractor governance.
  • Experience overseeing large fleets of plant, machinery, cranes, forklifts, and production equipment.
  • Proven capability managing external mechanical, electrical, engineering, and specialist maintenance providers.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing maintenance budgets, capital replacement planning, and equipment downtime costs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites and business functions.
  • A hands-on yet strategic approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications will be highly regarded.
What's on Offer?
  • Senior leadership role reporting directly to the Executive General Manager.
  • Opportunity to build and implement a national asset management strategy.
  • Significant influence over a major asset portfolio and future capital projects.
  • Multi-site, national scope with strong executive visibility.
  • Permanent, full-time position with long-term career opportunities.
