Job summary

Hennessy Catholic College is seeking a Music Teacher for Years 7–12 to foster engaging learning experiences and develop musical skills within a supportive community. You will use curriculum-aligned resources and provide regular assessments with personalised feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching required.
  • NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) required.
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Music for Years 7–12 (Stages 4–6) using curriculum-aligned resources.
  • Use effective teaching strategies and provide regular assessments and personalised feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each learner.
  • Opportunity to undertake a Coordinator role for leadership growth.

Salary Range:$85,694 to $141,638 plus superannuation. Salary is determined based on years of teaching service
Employment Status: Full Time | 76 Hours Per Fortnight

About the Role

The Music Teacher (Stages 4, 5 & 6) creates an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to explore and develop their musical skills. In this role, you will use effective teaching strategies and curriculum-aligned resources to make music accessible and meaningful, connecting lessons to real-world contexts that highlight the importance of music in everyday life. Through regular assessments and personalised feedback, you will support each student’s progress, celebrating achievements and guiding them through challenges. By working closely with colleagues and parents, you will help establish a strong support network around every learner. We are committed to your professional growth, offering ongoing development and accreditation opportunities so you can continue to expand your expertise and bring fresh insights and enthusiasm to the music classroom. For the right applicant, there is the opportunity to undertake a Coordinator role, providing a pathway to further leadership and professional growth.
