Job summary

Healius is seeking a multiskilled Scientist to join the laboratory team at our Portland location on a part-time basis (15 hours per week) with on-call duties, weekends and public holidays. The role involves blood banking, haematology, biochemistry and related disciplines, performing manual and automated tests, maintaining equipment, and contributing to quality assurance.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Science) and have experience across the core disciplines, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science.
• Experience in biochemistry, haematology, bloodbank and morphology preferred.
• Strong QC/QAP knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing across disciplines.
• Process specimens from reception to result reporting.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management.
• Maintain equipment and adhere to SOPs and QA processes.
• Participate in training, quality audits and continuous improvement.
