Job summary

Dorevitch Pathology in Bairnsdale invites a multiskilled Scientist to join our laboratory on a part-time basis, with expertise across Blood Banking, Haematology, Coagulation and Biochemistry. The role is 45.6 hours per fortnight over six shifts, including on-call duties.

You will perform manual and automated diagnostic testing, assist with stock control, ensure quality records and participate in QA activities while maintaining equipment and keeping up to date with best practices in a busy

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
• Experience and knowledge in Blood Banking, Haematology, Coagulation and Biochemistry.
• Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing.
• Execute routine procedures from specimen reception to result reporting.
• Assist with stock control.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with protocols.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper operation per protocols.
• Keep current scientific knowledge and participate in QA activities.
• Contribute to development of new assays and process improvements.
• Assist in training staff and liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
