Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd is seeking multiple full stack .NET and senior full stack .NET software developers for a Government software program in Canberra, ACT. The roles involve securing full stack applications with .NET, SQL and JavaScript frameworks, and contributing to data integration and analytical capabilities.

Required is a current NV1 clearance minimum, with eligibility for NV2, and a start ASAP through 30 June with options to extend for two 12‑month periods. On-site work in Canberra is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience across SQL development.
• Experience with .NET backend development.
• Experience with JavaScript front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, or Svelte).
• Strong DevOps experience covering CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Work on a major Australian Government software development program, building and modernising secure analytical applications using .NET, SQL, Angular, Svelte and API integrations. Contribute to greenfield and brownfield development, data integration and decision-support capabilities across complex enterprise environments.

Location: Canberra, ACT

Contract Duration: ASAP start until 30 June, with 2 x 12-month extension options

Security Clearance Requirement: Current NV1 clearance minimum, with eligibility for NV2

Essential Tasks

• Develop, test, deploy and maintain secure full stack applications using .NET, JavaScript frameworks and SQL.
• Modernise front-end applications using Angular and/or Svelte, including application refactoring, framework upgrades and performance improvements.
• Build and integrate backend services, APIs and data pipelines supporting enterprise data integration, analytics and scenario modelling.
• Contribute to Agile Scrum delivery, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews and application support.

Key Criteria

• Minimum 5 years' experience across SQL development (including 3NF), .NET backend development, RDBMS and data integration.
• Experience with JavaScript front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue or Svelte, alongside API architectures and Agile development.
• Strong DevOps experience covering CI/CD pipelines, repository management, automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and unit and integration testing.
• Experience in large-scale application refactoring, framework upgrades or core functionality development, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
