Job summary

PCA Ground Engineering is seeking a Financial Accountant at our Arundel head office. You will own balance sheet reconciliations, keep the general ledger honest, and ensure a smooth month-end close cycle while supporting statutory compliance (BAS, FBT, payroll tax workpapers).

You'll work closely with the Senior Financial Controller and Finance Manager, help shape the Business Central rebuild, and gain exposure to multi-entity reporting in a growing civil and ground engineering group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• 3+ years in a financial or management accounting role.
• Strong Excel skills across reconciliations, schedules and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of accounting standards relevant to a trading entity.
• Someone who hits monthly close deadlines without being chased, and flags issues early rather than sitting on them.
• CA or CPA, completed or well underway.
• Big 4 or mid-tier firm background, particularly audit.
• Exposure to construction, civil or another project-based industry.
• Multi-entity or group reporting and consolidation experience.
• ERP experience, especially Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

Responsibilities

• Own designated balance sheet reconciliations and keep the general ledger honest.
• Manage month-end close cycle to run like clockwork.
• Support statutory compliance (BAS, FBT, payroll tax workpapers).
• Get a genuine seat at the table as we rebuild our finance system from the ground up.
• Collaborate with Senior Financial Controller and Finance Manager.
