Job summary

Breadcrumb is hiring for an Accountant to manage the Australian and UK ledgers, focusing on accuracy, ownership, and scalable processes. You will handle AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end, BAS returns, and payroll inputs via Rippling while collaborating with non-finance stakeholders.

The role blends day-to-day bookkeeping with general ledger ownership in a fast-growing tech environment and offers hybrid working flexibility as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Proven hands-on experience with Xero
• Proven experience managing full-cycle AP and AR
• Experience preparing BAS returns
• Solid understanding of reconciliations, accruals, journals and month-end
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Clear communication with non-finance stakeholders
• Curious and commercially minded with a numbers-driven mindset
• Adaptable in a changing environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledgers for Australian and UK entities
• Manage end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Support month-end close activities including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Prepare and lodge BAS returns and GST reporting
• Support UK VAT, pension contributions, and statutory reporting
• Coordinate payroll data inputs via Rippling
• Maintain clean financial records and COA structures
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation
• Identify discrepancies and drive process improvements
