Job summary

McDermott Aviation is seeking an organised Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Cooroy. This hands-on role supports day-to-day transactions, supplier payments, reconciliations, and month-end processes across multiple currencies.

You will liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure accurate, efficient financial processes. The position suits someone with accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys teamwork and wants to develop their accounting career.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in accounting or bookkeeping
• Qualified or studying CA/CPA/ACCA
• Intermediate Excel (PivotTables, formulas)
• Experience with multi-currency transactions is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and organisation
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Professional and discreet with confidential info

Responsibilities

• Process and verify supplier invoices and match to purchase orders
• Prepare weekly supplier payments and remittances
• Process transactions across multiple currencies
• Reconcile credit cards and supplier statements
• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger
• Assist with month-end and year-end tasks including prepayments and accruals
• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records
• Liaise with internal teams and suppliers to resolve queries
• Provide general administrative and financial support to Finance team
