Job summary

Penske Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Diesel Technician for our Production Centre in Queensland. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing and commissioning MTU MTU 20V4000 Series Gensets and related equipment in a modern workshop.

The role offers a Monday to Friday workshop-based schedule, ongoing OEM training and development, and the chance to advance your skills across mechanical and electrical systems while contributing to high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and service information.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical knowledge highly regarded.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Effective communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and commission generator sets and related equipment.
• Perform mechanical and electrical upfit work on MTU 20V4000 Series Gensets.
• Complete work instructions and job documentation accurately.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and testing.
• Assist with troubleshooting and fault rectification.
• Support Electrical Technicians as required.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and workshop processes.
• Provide occasional field service support when required.
