Job summary

I-MED Radiology's Northwest Tasmania team invites applications for an MRI Training Position commencing in 2026. As an MRI Trainee you will gain hands-on imaging experience across Burnie (NWRH) and Devonport while undertaking a structured MRI training program and professional development.

Must be an AHPRA registered Radiographer to apply. You will work with experienced MRI and Radiography professionals in a multidisciplinary environment, focusing on patient care and ongoing skill advancement

Responsibilities

• Participating in a structured MRI training program with ongoing learning.
• Performing high-quality Radiography procedures while progressing toward MRI competency.
• Delivering a high standard of patient care and maintaining a professional and compassionate approach at all times.
• Working collaboratively with Radiologists, Technologists and clinic teams to ensure efficient workflow and service delivery.
• Demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn new technologies, protocols and procedures.
• Contributing to a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintaining equipment care, quality assurance and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
• Building strong relationships with patients, referrers and colleagues.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an MRI Training Position within our Northwest Tasmania team. This role offers a structured pathway to develop your MRI skills across our clinics, commencing in 2026.

Must be an AHPRA registered Radiographer as a pre-requisite for this position.

As an MRI Trainee, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality imaging services while undertaking comprehensive training and development. You will gain hands-on experience across sites including Burnie (NWRH) and Devonport, working alongside experienced MRI and Radiography professionals.

You will be supported to build your technical capability while contributing to a patient-focused, collaborative environment.

You will demonstrate a strong interest in MRI, a commitment to professional development, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. A foundation in Radiography and a patient-first mindset will be key to your success in this role. This role will still require the candidate to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work across different modalities as their skills allow.
