Job summary

Lumus Imaging is offering an exciting full-time opportunity at the Northern Private Hospital to join as an MRI radiographer trainee. You will undertake an extensive MRI training program with the goal of scanning autonomously as a qualified MRI technician within 6 months, while rotating through general X-ray, CT, theatre, Cath Lab, and vascular procedures.

You will work across hospital, community, and medical centre sites, with hours spanning 7am–9pm and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Clinical CT and X-ray experience with cross-sectional knowledge.
• Commitment to complete MRI training and achieve Level 1 AIR MRI qualification
• High imaging quality and patient care standards
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Flexibility to cover shifts and on-call
• University or equivalent in Medical Imaging Technology
• Current AHPRA Registration and Vic radiation license
• Driver’s license

Our Lumus Imaging department within the Northern Private Hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional services including General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mobiles and Theatre, Cath Lab and Vascular procedures, and interventional procedures. This brand new hospital and imaging department opened in Feb 2024 and boasts state of the art equipment and a beautiful, clean, environmentally friendly working environment. The imaging department currently services mostly outpatient appointment bookings with some in-patient exams and interventional procedures from within the hospital which are expected to increase as the hospital increases their patient load and expands their services.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity currently exists to join our amazing team and commence MRI training so that you can become a fully qualified MRI radiographer. This permanent full-time position would be ideal for an enthusiastic CT and X-ray Radiographer who is looking to take the next step in their career, and you will be working along-side our very experienced and dedicated MRI supervisor to undertake our extensive MRI training program which will see you gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be scanning autonomously as a qualified MRI technician within 6months. As part of our team, you will be required to rotate throughout the different modalities in the department covering general Xray, CT, theatre, Cath Lab, and Vascular suite with training provided to ensure your success in all areas. You will be required to rotate through our different hospital, community centre, and medical centre sites in the local area giving you a broad spectrum of experience and work variety. Working hours for MRI once qualified are between 7am and 9pm, and there are some rostered on call shifts for our hospital site which we rotate through. We have a great friendly young team who all committed to helping and teaching each other and working collaboratively, and who have a shared vision of providing the best care to our patients in the community.

Role requirements:

• Clinical experience in CT and general Xray duties, and good cross sectional anatomical knowledge
• Commitment and desire to complete MRI training and achieve Level 1 AIR MRI qualification
• High standards of imaging quality and patient care
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Flexibility to cover shift work and on call requirements
• A focus on teamwork and working well with others.
• University or equivalent qualifications in Medical Imaging Technology
• CurrentAHPRA Registration and Vic radiation license
• Driver’s license
