Job summary

Northern Rivers Fencing Pty Ltd – Ballina NSW invites applications for a practical MR or HR Truck Driver to join our local team. This permanent full-time role blends local truck driving with hands-on fencing and sanitation work across the Northern Rivers, including occasional portable toilet servicing.

You will drive an MR truck, deliver and install temporary fencing, position portable toilets, complete the weekly service run and keep records with a phone.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted MR or HR or higher licence required.
• Confident with manual trucks and towing/reversing trailers.
• Physically capable of handling fence panels (~15 kg) and feet (~33 kg).
• Full Australian working rights.
• White Card or ability to obtain one before onsite work.
• Willingness to meet vaccination requirements (subject to medical advice).

Responsibilities

• Drive MR truck and tow trailers between jobs.
• Deliver, install, relocate and collect temporary fencing.
• Deliver and position portable toilets.
• Complete the current weekly portable-toilet service run.
• Use vacuum-pump and cleaning equipment to service toilets.
• Load and unload fencing and equipment.
• Take job photos and records with a smartphone.
• Communicate with builders, site supervisors and customers.
• Assist with yard duties and occasional fencing tasks.

$35–$38 per hour plus super | Permanent full-time | West Ballina

TFH Northern Rivers, operated by Northern Rivers Fencing, is seeking a practical and physically capable MR or HR Truck Driver to join our established local team.

This is a permanent position combining local truck driving with active, hands‑on work throughout the Northern Rivers.

Portable‑toilet servicing currently makes up approximately one day per week. The remainder of the week is primarily temporary‑fencing delivery, installation, relocation and collection, along with other fencing and yard duties when required.

Previous temporary‑fencing or portable‑sanitation experience is not required. Paid practical training will be provided to the right person.

An immediate start is available and preferred; however, applicants with a short notice period are still encouraged to apply.

What you will do

• Use vacuum‑pump and cleaning equipment to empty, clean and restock portable toilets

• Load and unload fencing and equipment

• Complete job photos and records using a smartphone

• Communicate with builders, site supervisors and customers

• Assist with equipment checks, yard duties and occasional general fencing work

What we need

• A current unrestricted MR, HR or higher driver licence

• Confidence driving a manual truck and towing and reversing trailers

• A safe and responsible driving history

• The physical capacity to regularly handle approximately 15 kg fence panels and concrete feet weighing up to approximately 33 kg

• Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently

• Comfort working outdoors and completing the weekly portable‑toilet service run

• Full Australian working rights

• A current White Card, or the ability to obtain one before undertaking onsite work

• Willingness to meet the role‑specific vaccination requirements, subject to medical advice

Helpful but not essential

• LF forklift licence

• Forklift operating experience

• Vacuum‑pump, liquid‑waste or portable‑sanitation experience

• Temporary‑fencing or hire‑equipment experience

• Delivery driving, construction, civil or physical labouring experience

• Basic machinery or equipment‑maintenance skills

Applicants without a forklift licence or previous sanitation experience are welcome to apply. These aspects can be taught to someone with the required driver licence, physical capability and attitude.

About the toilet servicing

Portable‑toilet servicing is currently completed on one scheduled day each week, although this may vary as the business grows and operational requirements change.

The work involves using purpose‑built vacuum equipment to empty waste tanks, followed by cleaning, sanitising and restocking each unit. Training, procedures and job‑specific PPE are provided.
