Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking Experienced Gardeners & Mowers to support garden maintenance across Melbourne's parks and open spaces. This hands-on role covers hedging, pruning, planting and mulching with a focus on safety and quality.

The successful candidate will have horticulture experience, a Cert 3 in Horticulture (preferred), and a current driver's licence. Willingness to obtain police and Working with Children checks is required. Physically demanding with lifting and prolonged standing.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, gardening or related field preferred.
• Cert III in Horticulture or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to obtain National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with garden maintenance tasks: hedging, weeding, pruning, planting, mulching.
• Operate hand tools and petrol gear (hedgers, blowers, whipper snippers, mowers) safely.
• Load/unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks/trailers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas and tools.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

About the Role

We are looking for Experienced Gardeners & Mowers to assist with various tasks related to garden maintenance. This hands-on role working on some incredible parks & open spaces across Melbourne's South-East suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with garden maintenance tasks such as hedging, weeding, pruning, planting, and mulching.
• Operate hand tools such as hedgers, blowers and whipper snippers and petrol gear such as push mowers and ride on plant equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

About You

You have a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards. Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field will be highly regarded.

Qualification in Cert 3 in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or equivalent (preferred)

You have a current driver's licence, National Police Check (or willing to obtain) and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).

This role can be physically demanding, and you must have the ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel and stand for extended periods.
