Job summary

New Lambton Service Centre in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic for a permanent full-time position (minimum 38 hours/week) at their New Lambton, NSW workshop. The role covers inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing vehicles to ensure safety and roadworthiness.

The successful candidate will have proven experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work with modern diagnostic tools in a friendly, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic in a workshop or service centre.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across vehicle systems.
• Proficient in the use of modern diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills to explain issues to customers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect motor vehicles to identify mechanical faults and issues.
• Diagnose engine, transmission, steering, braking, suspension, electrical and fuel system faults.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Perform repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, steering and exhaust systems.
• Conduct registration inspections and safety checks under NSW rules.
• Advise customers on repairs and maintenance needs.
• Order and manage parts and keep records up to date.
