Job summary

Southwest Automotive Service in Torquay, VIC is seeking a fully qualified mechanic for our busy workshop. You will handle a mix of general servicing and complex repairs across cars, trucks, caravans, trailers, motorcycles, quad bikes and some farm equipment.

We perform both mechanical and some auto electrical work, with opportunities to learn and teach. You will join a great team in a friendly environment, with high pay in the region and overtime opportunities for those who want it.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified mechanic with proven workshop experience.
• Willingness to perform both basic servicing and complex repairs.
• Ability to work on brakes, wheel bearings, timing belts, engine swaps and clutches.

Responsibilities

• Perform general servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Carry out brakes, wheel bearings and component replacements.
• Handle timing belt kit replacements and clutch work.
• Assist with engine swaps and major mechanical tasks.
• Some auto electrical tasks; training available where needed.

Southwest Automotive Service – Torquay VIC

Fully qualified mechanic required in a busy workshop in Torquay, Victoria.

Diverse workshop working on everything from cars, smaller trucks, caravans, trailers motorcycles and quad bikes and also some farm equipment, including both mechanical and auto electrical work.

We are the largest mechanical workshop in the area and have a good reputation and relationship with our customers and within the local community.

We are a busy workshop looking to employ someone who is confident in their ability to provide quality workmanship as our customers deserve and expect the best. We need someone who is capable of performing both the simpler side of mechanics such as general servicing, brakes, wheel bearings etc. as well as the more complex side like timing belt kit replacements, head removal and refitment, engine swaps and clutch replacements. We do a fair bit of auto electrical work too but you are not required to be proficient in this area as we are willing to teach the right person if required.

A great, highly skilled and confident mechanic is who we are looking for. It is a fun and enjoyable working environment, and my team all enjoy working in this environment. My team are also the highest paid in the region and there will also be regular opportunities to earn extra with overtime if you wish. We are looking for a long term employee, not someone who only wants to stay for a short period.
