All G Auto Service Pty Ltd T/A Sebring Mechanical is a growing general mechanical workshop on the Gold Coast seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join the team on a full-time basis. The role covers light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial work with duties spanning servicing, diagnostics and major mechanical repairs.

The successful candidate will diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles, including modern electronically controlled models.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with customers and team.
• Relevant automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, including on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV.
• At least one year of experience as a Motor Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles.
• Logbook servicing and vehicle inspections.
• Use diagnostic tools for fault finding and repairs.
• Engine, brake, steering, suspension and transmission work.
• Cooling, fuel and electrical system repairs and testing.
• Road test and verify repairs, maintain accurate job cards.

We work on a wide range of light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, carrying out general servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major mechanical work.

Automotive Technician – light vehicle & 4x4

All G Auto Service Pty Ltd T/A Sebring Mechanical is a growing general mechanical workshop looking for an experienced Automotive Technician / Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.

We work on a wide range of light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, carrying out general servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major mechanical work.

The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including modern electronically controlled vehicles and 4x4s.

Duties will include:

• General servicing and maintenance
• Logbook servicing
• Vehicle inspections and mechanical assessments
• Computer diagnostics and fault finding
• Engine repairs and component replacement
• Timing belt and timing chain replacement
• Brake, steering and suspension repairs
• Clutch and transmission repairs
• Cooling system repairs
• Fuel and diesel system repairs
• Electrical and electronic fault diagnosis
• 4x4 servicing and repairs
• Air conditioning diagnosis and repairs where qualified
• Pre-purchase and mechanical inspections
• Road testing and verification of repairs
• Accurate completion of job cards and repair documentation
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components;
• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts;
• Resembling mechanical components;
• Carrying out scheduled maintenance for compliance with pollution regulations;
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after repair;
• Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing work required to achieve roadworthiness; and
• Responding to breakdown service calls, if applicable.

skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Fluent in English
• Relevant automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or equivalent recognised trade qualification
• At least one year of experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working on modern light vehicles
• Experience with 4x4 vehicles highly regarded
• Ability to use automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to carry out mechanical repairs independently
• Good understanding of vehicle systems and repair procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Current Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one
• A professional attitude and good communication skills
