Job summary

O'Brien Body and Paint Gatton in Gatton, QLD is seeking a trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic for a full-time permanent role. The successful applicant will perform vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard and work as part of a team in a busy smash repairs shop.

The role requires a trade certificate or 3 years' relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work unsupervised when needed. Salary range is AUD 79,000–84,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or 3 years' relevant industry experience.
• Trade background in light vehicle mechanics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify repairs required on a wide range of vehicles.
• Determine which repairs and mechanical parts are required to complete job and provide written reports.
• Carry out mechanical repairs to an exceptional standard.
• Replace damaged sections with new parts.
• Repair damaged vehicles with specialist tools and equipment.
• Correctly and consistently stripping and refitting vehicles.
• Scan and clear mechanical fault codes.
• Provide basic maintenance services to vehicles including oil changes and air filter changes.
• Safely and correctly use a vehicle hoist.
• Road test vehicles after completed repairs.
• Basic cleaning and tending to your work bay and workshop.

O'Brien Body & Paint Gatton Pty Ltd are currently seeking a trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic for a fulltime/permanent position to join our team in Gatton, QLD Australia (1 hr West of Brisbane, 20 minutes from Toowoomba).

O'Brien Body & Paint is a reputable and well-known business within the Smash repairs Industry and local area servicing most of the major insurance companies including RACQ, SUNCORP, AAMI, BUDGET, YOUI and private customers.

The successful applicant should have experience with the following:

• Inspect and identify repairs required on a wide range of vehicles
• Determine which repairs and mechanical parts are required to complete job and provide written reports
• Carry out mechanical repairs to an exceptional standard

• Repair damaged vehicles with specialist tools and equipment
