Qualifications

• Must possess industry level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Perform schedule services including brake repair, tyre rotation and suspension repair work.
• Experience in diagnostic repair in vehicle issues.
• Repair mechanical parts such as engine, transmission and differentials.
• Report all work to foreman or service manager and log in-house systems.
• Quote and order parts as required; assist with accessory fitting.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices; maintain knowledge of dealer products.
• Ensure safe working environment and operation of tools/equipment.
• Test drive and perform final vehicle checks before delivery.

Position Overview:

Must possess industry level certification to operate as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in relevant state, territory or jurisdiction.

Developed knowledge of the automotive industry.

Tasks & responsibilities

Perform schedule services including brake repair, tyre rotation and suspension repair work

Experience in diagnostic repair in vehicle issues

Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and diffs.

Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to foreman or service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems.

Quoting and ordering parts needed as required.

Accessory fitting when required.

Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians.

Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range.

Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialized equipment.

Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers.

Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles

Technical aptitude and post-trade experience in a similar role

Additional qualifications in the automotive/mechanical field

Prior experience with Toyota vehicles

Ability to progress your career with Toyota specific training and qualifications.
