Job summary

Origin Group Limited is seeking a motivated scientist to support diagnostic assay development for colorectal cancer. The role emphasizes PCR, DNA extraction, and quantification within a clinical research setting.

The candidate will routinely perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR-based QC, and NGS preparation, with routine reporting. Work in a regulated environment (GxP/ISO 13485) offers growth as the company expands.

Qualifications

• Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, quantification).
• 1+ year of scientific research experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
• Ability to critically evaluate data for quality and reproducibility.
• Proficient time management, multitasking, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good organisational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desirable experience with clinical samples or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Routinely performing DNA, RNA extraction, and manage biobank clinical sample storage.
• PCR-based quality control methods.
• Preparation for and completion of NGS assays.
• Completion of routine scientific reports.
• Laboratory maintenance and equipment cleaning.
• Be accountable for time, cost, and quality of deliverables.
• Provide progress updates on deliverables, risks and opportunities.
• Work in a regulated lab environment (GxP, ISO 13485).
• Handle and process human samples.
