Job summary

Plena Healthcare is seeking a Mobile Speech Pathologist to cover Geelong and surrounds. You will assess and intervene for swallowing and communication needs in adults across home, aged care, and community settings, with autonomy and support from a national team.

The role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities to develop skills in dysphagia and communication, and collaboration with a wide professional network. New graduates are welcome and travel across Geelong is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide evidence-based intervention for swallowing and communication difficulties.
• Support adults with complex and changing clinical needs.
• Provide dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention across residential aged care and community settings.
• Deliver telehealth assessment and intervention where appropriate.
• Manage your own calendar, appointments and travel schedule.
• Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, facility staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide education and recommendations to clients, families, support staff and colleagues.
• Advocate for clients and help them maintain their communication, independence, dignity and quality of life.
• Connect with our national Speech Pathology team to share knowledge and clinical expertise.

About you

To join our team, you’ll need:

• A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
• A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle, as this is a mobile role.
